KIMBROUGH 400 RULES
ROAR Membership is Required by ANYONE who drives a car on the track.
Race Entry Fee MUST be paid, along w/ "CURRENT" ROAR Membership prior to ANY car being placed on the track on FRIDAY Sept. 2nd.
Race Entry Fees are Non-Refundable, and all effort will be made to have this race completed, even in the event of rain.
General Rules (Electric Pan Cars)
- Motors:
ROAR APPROVED MOTORS for the appropriate classes. ie: 10.5 - 13.5 - 17.5 - 21.5
NO Tampering or Modifying Motors from "FACTORY" stock. (ie: no re-soldering windings, etc.), must be ROAR approved by the date of the KIMBROUGH 400
- Batteries:
1 cell (3.7v) Class(es) - ROAR APPROVED 1 cell Lipos
ANY Currently ROAR Approved 1c Lipo available to the PUBLIC as of the date of the Kimbrough 400.
(Sportsman 1 cell Truck ONLY - 5000 mah MAX)
NOTE: MAX VOLTAGE is 4.20 Volts, with a .02 +/- (MAX 4.22v) if your car comes to tech and is measured on the TECH Volt Meter prior to your race over 4.22 your car will not race.
2 cell (7.4v) MAX 3400mAh - 25c / 2s (7.4v) ROAR Approved Lipos
NOTE: MAX VOLTAGE is 8.40 Volts, with a .04 +/- (MAX 8.44v) if your car comes to tech and is measured on the TECH Volt Meter prior to your race over 8.44 your car will not race.
"DEANS Plugs", or 4 mm barrel connectors may be used, NO Hardwiring Battery to ESC.
- Electronic Speed Controls:
Open Timing/Computer Programmable ESC's allowed in all classes except 1 cell Sportsman Truck and 2 cell NASTRUCK, these classes will use ROAR's Sportsman "Blinky" mode, or a non-timing mode, and you must be able to demonstrate your mode (if a non-blinky ESC is used) ie: LRP ESC's.
- Bodies:
STOCK CAR: Stock Car type bodies (no dirt type bodies) - Spoilers and/or Wings may be run. Max Spoiler w/o wing is 2.00" off the rear deck of the car.
If a Wing is run, max SPOILER size is .7500 inches off the deck.
Sportsman Truck / NASTRUCK: Oval Truck bodies only to be used in this class. At this time there are no restrictions on brand, or model. Trucks will use Spoilers Only (No WINGS) with a max height of 2.500" off the rear of the bed. Back Ends may be cut out or left in, in both truck classes.
Min Roof Height in both Truck and Car classes will be 4.250"
- Wings:
Wings may be run on bodies, or mounted to the rear pod. Use of Wire or Lexan mounts is ok.
Max Side Dam size is 2.00" Height x 3.750" Length.
Actual WING may not exceed or stick out from side dams. When a wing is used with a spoiler, the spoiler may be no more than .7500 inches tall (off the deck of the car).
- Chassis:
"Standard Pan Car / Direct Drive Chassis's" No independant rear suspension, all cars must have one piece axles. No min/max chassis height will be enforced.
- Tires:
This is a "CAPPED" Tire event. All pan cars must use commercially produced "Capped Tires"
- Weight:
38 oz will be the minimum weight of ALL pan cars, both Stock Car, and Truck Classes (1 cell and 2 cell)
Scale will be set to 1077 grams = 37.990057 ounces - you must tip it.
You must meet or exceed MIN WEIGHT both prior to, and after your race. Failure to meet min. weight post race will disqualify car from your run.
- Transponders:
"Personal Transponders" compatible with AMBrc scoring REQUIRED. AMB/MyLaps or aftermarket brands ok.
Other Classes at the KIMBROUGH 400
GASCAR Nitro/Gas Pan Car : will use GASCAR RULES. (available on HobbyTalk in the Gascar Section)
Vintage Trans/Am "OVAL": This is a 4wd "Touring Car" class, and has been added to the event, rules will be available for this class on request. Please email joe@southwesttour.com
In the case that any subjects have been missed, TECH/RACE DIRECTOR will have the right of decision.
